Substrats en verre sur mesure, ultra-minces et revêtus de métal

Combining the extreme flexibility of ultra-thin glass with the high conductivity and reflectivity of thin-film metals requires master-level fabrication. We specialize in the precision vacuum deposition of metals onto ultra-thin glass substrates ranging from 30μm to 200μm in thickness.

We don't just supply coated blanks. We provide a complete end-to-end solution—from selecting the right base glass and depositing multi-layer metal stacks, to precision laser dicing and patterning—delivering ready-to-use components for your advanced electronics or optical assemblies.

Détails - Introduction

Available Metal Coatings & Engineering Functions

We utilize advanced Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and sputtering techniques to coat ultra-thin glass with a variety of high-purity metals, tailored to your application:

  • Gold (Au) + Ti/Cr Adhesion Layer: Provides ultimate chemical inertness, biocompatibility, and IR reflectance. Highly used in Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) biosensors and flexible transparent electrodes.
  • Chromium (Cr): Offers superior optical density (OD) for flexible photomasks, calibration targets, and ultra-lightweight light-blocking apertures.
  • Copper (Cu): Essential for high-density flexible circuits, RF antennas, and advanced semiconductor packaging (metallized glass interposers).
  • Aluminum (Al) & Silver (Ag): Delivers broadband reflectivity for ultra-lightweight space mirrors and flexible optoelectronics.
  • Platinum (Pt) & Titanium (Ti): Highly durable electrodes for microfluidics, lab-on-a-chip devices, and harsh chemical environments.

Overcoming the Fabrication Challenges (Our Advantage)

Coating and processing glass thinner than a human hair introduces severe manufacturing challenges. Standard coaters often warp the glass, and standard dicing shatters it. Here is how we guarantee industrial reliability:

  • Stress-Free Deposition (Zero Warpage): Metal films introduce surface stress that can cause ultra-thin glass to curl or bow. We strictly control deposition temperatures and vacuum parameters to ensure low-stress coatings, keeping the thin flexible substrate perfectly flat.
  • Flawless Adhesion: Metals like gold and copper do not bond natively to glass. We deposit ultra-thin (nanometer-scale) Titanium (Ti) or Chromium (Cr) adhesion layers before the functional metal, ensuring the film survives tape tests, bending, and harsh environments without delamination.
  • Micro-Precision Laser Dicing: Cutting metal-coated ultra-thin glass mechanically causes edge chipping and film peeling. We utilize ultrashort pulse lasers (picosecond/femtosecond) to cut coated substrates with zero thermal damage, clean edges, and no coating disruption.
  • Photolithography & Patterning: Need specific electrode designs? We can pattern the metal layers directly on the ultra-thin glass with micron-level resolution using wet or dry etching techniques.

High-Tech Applications

Our metal-coated ultra-thin glass is driving miniaturization and flexibility across high-tech sectors:

  • Flexible Electronics: Transparent heaters, EMI shielding, and wearable medical sensors.
  • Advanced IC Packaging: Glass core substrates and metallized edges for hermetic soldering.
  • Bio-Tech & Microfluidics: Conductive micro-arrays and impedance sensors on flexible lab-on-a-chip systems.
  • Aerospace & Optics: Deformable mirrors and ultra-lightweight IR reflectors for satellites.

Because handling and coating ultra-thin glass requires extensive engineering prep, clear specifications are vital for an accurate quote.

To help us evaluate your project, please provide:

  1. Base Glass & Thickness: (e.g., SCHOTT AF32 50μm, or standard UTG 100μm).
  2. The Metal Stack: (e.g., 10nm Ti Adhesion Layer + 100nm Au Layer).
  3. Dimensions & Tolerances: Substrate size, and whether it requires custom dicing.
  4. Delivery Format: We highly recommend delivery on a PET/OCA carrier film for safe unboxing and automated assembly line handling.
